And librarians report on ways the book has helped children cope with other separations and losses. Each describes something new about how they use the book.
We'd like to share these ideas with everyone so you can all benefit from your colleagues' experiences.
Send us a brief (250 words or less) description of the way you use The Kissing Hand. we will enter all of them into a sweepstakes and select our winners at random. One school or library will win a free day-long visit by author Audrey Penn. Four runners-up (also selected at random) will win an autographed copy of the book.

There is a curriculum guide for Mystery at Blackbeard's Cove on this site. The Language Arts section covers reading comprehension, vocabulary and literary analysis. Social Science questions and essay topics are also included. This curriculum guide is intended for use with middle grade students.
